Embassy Opening

January 2 @ 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
- September was a transformative month for the Somali Embassy in Washington, DC. His Excellency, President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, along members of his cabinet, came to Washington to officially open the Embassy’s new permanent location. High ranking US government officials and members of the Somali diaspora were in attendance to witness this historic moment. After nearly four years of service at a temporary location, the Somali Embassy now has a permanent place in Washington. In this next stage of diplomacy, the Embassy has welcomed a new chief of mission.
- After over two decades of political absence in the United States, the Somali Embassy is renewing its commitment to diplomacy and friendship with the United States and its citizens. We see this time as the beginning of a prosperous relationship between Somalia and the United States.
